As the number of infected persons increase daily in states across Nigeria, the Rivers State Government has warned that the laws on restriction of movement must be adhered to for the safety of all and sundry.

Governor, Nyesom  Wike, made the assertion on Monday, while speaking on some proactive steps taken by the state government to curb the spread of the virus.

He reiterated that coronavirus was no respecter of persons, pointing out that it kills both influential and poor people, and urged citizens to be vigilant and assist the government in the fight against the pandemic.

Wike  further revealed that some staff of the Bank of Agriculture, (BOA), have been prosecuted for violating the Executive order of the state.

He said, “On Sunday, we arrested some staff of BOA who violated the law. They have been arraigned in court and remanded.”
